一般木製家具所用的木材大多來自商業林木，基於一些商業標準，這些木材的取材率一般於65-70%之間。即一棵約0.57米直徑、四米高的原木樹幹，其木材取材率一般只能有0.7立方米左右可用木材。其餘部份因樹身彎曲及樹皮、節疤等原因而被棄。這裡還未計算樹冠內的樹枝所包括的木材。這些樹枝木材，一般因為直徑太少而不為採用作木材使用。對一般現代木製家具的設計來說，基於外觀上對木材的平整及方直線條的要求，這些家具最多只能使用約80%的所採購木材。即是說，一件普通的現代木製家具，假設其所耗用的木材約為0.56立方米，具實際上巴經消耗了一棵約有一個立方米體積的樹幹。而Wing的設計理念便沒有製造這麼大的資源浪費。這一系列的產品，設計上主要以所收集得來的廢棄樹枝作起點。設計師透過觀察樹枝天然的生長形態，配合工藝技術，將這些本來就無人問津的木材充份運用，並製作出每件都獨一無二的家具用品，為使用者的家添上獨特的品味•除這些被棄的樹木枝節之外，這一系列的產品更有用上其它常見的廢棄物，如舊車呔等。整個設計概念原自兩大環保原則—— Reduce (減少) 及 Reuse (再用)。

Unlike many contemporary furniture designs which often create high percentage of wood material wastage due to geometric design and mass production process, Wing's furniture designs are not affected by this constrain. This One-Of-A-Kind hand-made furniture series maneuvers to adopt the natural form of a tree branch into an elegantly designed furniture that serves the user's utilitarian and aesthetic needs. Besides the fact that these tree branches are collected from abandoned sources such as tree pruning and felled old tree. this series of furniture design also uses other reusable resources such as old tires from automobile. The two major concepts in environment protection - Reduce and Reuse are the driving forces behind the design.

又名桂圓樹。生長於亞熱帶偏溫氣候。木質堅實，木紋細密，但因生長形態曲折奇特出材率不高，加上果實為上佳水果，因未被廣泛採用作家具木材。廣東地區鄉間多有野生及培植的龍眼樹。每年初秋龍眼收成時期會產生大量斷落的樹枝，鄉間居民會善用木材作農具手柄等用途，亦有作生火燃料之用。

A handsome tree that is widely grown in Southern China Guangdong region. The tree yields high density and prominent grain wood. Due to its irregular form and valuable fruit, the tree has rarely been recognized as furniture grade timber. Significant volume of felled branches and trunks are found every year after the harvest season.

原產自廣東及福建一帶溫暖濕潤氣候。樹皮無裂痕並呈灰褐色。同樣因為能生產上佳水果而被廣泛作商業種植。木質比龍眼還要堅實，而且木紋亦較為生動突出。以前有廣東船家用荔枝作製漁船及船上木器之用。但因其木紋曲析，較難刨光，加上樹身普遍不粗，因此板料面積亦不會寬闊，固未被廣泛應用作家具製作上。

Similar to Lognan, it is indigenous to Guangdong, China and is also a popular fruit tree. It can be distinguished from Longan by its grey smoother bark. It is wood is also in high density and the grain pattern is even more unpredictable than Longan. Becuase of the same reason, it is not widely used as furniture timber as it creates difficulty when is worked with hand tools.
